All Electrospindles
Teknomotor electrospindles are precision electrical machines that offer high performance parameters to machine operators. To keep them in usable condition without degrading their mechanical properties, minimal maintenance of the external rotating parts, combined with general cleanliness, must be ensured. Electrospindle maintenance mainly consists of cleaning the internal taper of the shaft using gasoline and oil or a suitable cleaning-lubricating agent, and periodically cleaning and lubricating the external thread of the shaft and the internal thread of the GTS clamping nut.
Contamination on the taper surface can cause irregularities in the seating of ER collets and consequently lead to non-axial tool mounting (misalignment)!
Lubricating the thread of the clamping nut and the shaft is exceptionally important, as working with dusty materials can lead to thread wear and, consequently, to irreversible damage to its surface.
It is also recommended to maintain general cleanliness in the air channels used for cooling the motor body.
Lubrication of the bearings and adjustment of their preload are not required. This operation is performed only by the manufacturer and is sufficient for proper operation throughout the entire lifespan of the electrospindle.
A properly operated spindle should last for years.
Attention! ER collets, ISO and HSK tool holders also require cleaning!
ATC Electrospindles (Automatic Tool Changer)
In the case of ATC spindles, maintaining the cleanliness of the internal shaft taper is crucial for the operational quality of the automatic tool change system. Attention! Cleaning HSK tool holders may require disassembly and reassembly of the clamping jaws. Here is a video with abbreviated adjustment instructions after assembly.
